Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra are known for their excellent characters. They bring the story to life with their personalities and heroic feats. Yet, where the show really shines is in its magic system. Bending is almost an art form in the Avatar franchise. While many characters have some form of bending, there are certainly some who stand out.
The best Benders in the Avatar franchise don’t always begin as the strongest, but they become legends by the ends of their tales. Others are born gifted and perfect their bending styles as time goes on. All the best Benders perform incredible moves with their bending, and some even create their own styles. Many powerful Benders can be found throughout the Avatar franchise, but these are the best.
Amon is the first villain in The Legend of Korra. He leads a resistance group of non-Benders called the Equalists, who strive for a more fair society (at least in their eyes). Amon comes to prominence when he is shown to take away people’s Bending – to “Equalize” them. Non-Benders flock to him because of this, until the reality of his power comes to light.
