Through product entries with online retailers Amazon and Anime Planet it was recently known that Sony Pictures and Plaion Pictures will bring the 4K Blu-Ray steel book from »Paprika« again. We summarize.
New edition in July 2025
The new edition of the “Paprika” steel book, which was first published in March 2024, is available from July 25, 2025. This includes the film with German and Japanese language version on 4K-Blu-Ray and Blu-ray. Pre -ordering the product is already possible with Amazon and Anime Planet.
Various features, the interviews “Fantasy Art” and “CG dream world”, an audio commentary, storyboard comparisons and animatics as well as trailers and a picture gallery are offered as extra.
The approximately 90-minute evening filler was created under the direction of director Satoshi Kon (“Perfect Blue”) in the Madhouse studio and started in the Japanese cinemas on October 21, 2006. Netflix has recently been offering this on call.

In a near future, the “DC Mini” device enables you to dive into other people’s dreams. When prototypes are stolen, dreams get out of control and mix with reality. The psychotherapist Atsuko Chiba uses her alter ego “peppers” to find the perpetrator and prevent the impending chaos.
