VCHA is officially no more. In its place stands Girlset, the freshly rebranded four-member group from JYP Entertainment, ready to take on the global music scene with a renewed identity.

The announcement arrived on August 7, when JYP revealed Girlset’s new logo and a short, cinematic teaser film. The video carried a mix of vulnerability and confidence, ending with the line “We’re setting who we are” — a message that signaled the group’s intention to define its own path without limitations.

Girlset’s current lineup consists of Lexi, Camila, Savanna, and Kendall. The group’s journey began as VCHA, a joint project between JYP Entertainment and Republic Records. All six original members were finalists of the 2023 survival show “A2K” (America2Korea), but the roster changed dramatically over the past year.

KG, one of the original members, left in December 2024 after publicly alleging abuse by a staff member, unhealthy work conditions, and other serious concerns about the industry environment. She later filed a lawsuit seeking to terminate her contract, claiming the company delayed her departure despite her decision to leave in May. In her statement, she voiced support for her remaining groupmates but stressed that she could not continue under the circumstances she described.

Kaylee also exited the group in July 2025 under what JYP called “mutual terms.” These changes left the quartet that now carries the Girlset name.

JYP explained the new identity by saying, “Girlset means the group will set its own path without any restrictions, to realize their full potential.” The agency also emphasized that the rebrand reflects their focus on the global market.
