After almost a year, the winner of the first “Aniseka Novel Awards” has been determined and now receives an anime and light-Novel adaptation. We summarize.

The winner is certain

On September 6, 2024, the anime producer Twin Engine (“My Deer Friend Nokotan”) and the publishing company Straight Edge (“Sword Art Online”) started the first “Aniseka Novel Award”, in which hobby authors were also viewed in addition to prize money.

The winner has finally been chosen from more than 6,000 submissions – and as the current trend specifies it, he tells its story in a much too long title. Because the winning work of author Puri means:

»My Mother (the Heroine) Married Me Away Like Second-Hand Goods to One of Her Followers, But I’m Not Treated Like a New Bride in the Remote Region I Moved to, and Now I Get to Live Freely!« (»Watashi no Ofuru de Waruin dakedo to Okaa-sama (Heroine) Torimaki o Oshitsukerare, Totsuida Henkyō demo Yome Atsukai Saremasen ga, Okage de Jiyū ni Ikiraremasu!«)

We too are already breaking our heads about how we can incorporate this concise title into our upcoming headings – after all, the work will definitely get an anime and will continue to be part of our reporting in the future.

An extension to other formats, such as manga and video games, is of course not excluded if successful. In addition, Author Puri is winning prize money of 1 million yen (about 5835 euros).

Original stories

The winning title tells an Isekai romance in which a princess has to leave the royal palace by ordering her mother. Although the situation seems difficult at first, it finds new luck in the secluded area.

Little by little she succeeds in gaining the trust of people – not least with the help of a soft toy that becomes alive through magic.

This original Isekai mix from “Villainess”, “Slow Life” and “Revenge”, seasoned with satirical humor, convinced the jury from the 16 anime production companies Bug Films, Crew-Cell, Eota, Geno Studio, Nagomi, Outline, Peakys, Scooter Films, Studio Colorido, Studio Daisy, Studio Kafka, Studio Nut, Team OneOne, Team Yamahitsuji, Wit Studio and ZEXCS, through his creative genre combination.

Two other works were awarded a special prize: “Dunkson Sumikko Gurashi” by Nanase Natum about a streamer with secret forces hiding in a dungeon, and “Bibō no shōnen …” by Aoi Miyazaki, a Romcom about a marriage proposal of a charming Marquis.
