The Canadian media company Lions Gate Entertainment made a partnership with the Ki start-up Runway last September, within the framework of which anime works could also be created. We summarize.

Anime adaptations for blockbusters?

Lions Gate Entertainment, known as the brand name »Lionsgate«, has been the most successful film and television sales company outside of the United States since the brand name »Lionsgate«. The company stands behind numerous blockbuster franchises such as “The Hungeries of Panem”, “John Wick”, “Saw” and “Twilight”.

In the future, according to Michael Burns, the company’s deputy chairman of the board, anime productions could also become part of this success story. Cooperation with the Ki start-up Runway not only promises significant cost savings, but also opens up new creative potential.

The focus is on “Filmseeers give the opportunity to participate in projects that would otherwise not be implementable”. In addition, the use of artificial intelligence could enable, “To implement a film production worth $ 100 million with only half of the costs”.

In addition, according to Burns, it is theoretically possible to select a well -known franchise and to give the AI the instructions to create an anime with age rating from the age of 13 – and three hours later the complete film was available.

If these projects are actually implemented, anime versions of the franchises mentioned and other brands could soon be created. A “John Wick” anime was announced some time ago, but is currently still in the production phase. What do you think of these plans? Let us know!
