Anime producer Nobuhiro Osawa said a few days ago that he wanted to adapt the fantasy series “Mushoku Tensei”, “Sword Art Online” and “Danmachi” until the end of the respective original work. We summarize.
Pull through
The corresponding statements fell at the beginning of this month during a panel for the 10th anniversary of “Danmachi: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in A Dungeon?”, Which was held in Los Angeles at Anime Expo 2025.
When asked what fans can expect in the future, Nobuhiro Osawa, who, as a chief producer at Egg Firm and, among other things, is responsible for the anime implementations of “Danmachi”, “Mushoku Tensei” and “Sword Art Online” “Pull through to the end” would.
With “Danmachi” and “Sword Art Online”, however, this is not so easy, since the anime implementations have already mostly obtained the respective Light-Novel templates and it “Without original work there is no way to continue the anime”.
Not enough material yet
While only two new novel volumes have been available for “Danmachi”, there is significantly more material at “Sword Art Online”-however, the “Unitital Ring” Arc has not yet been completed and one end seems to be far away.
It is therefore obvious that you want to wait and see the finale of this architecture in order to start a more extensive anime project afterwards-similar to the “Alicization”-Arc, which includes ten volumes.
In contrast, there is “Mushoku Tensei”, because here the main story has already come to an end in 26 volumes, which is why nothing would stand in the way of complete adaptation. First of all, it continues with the third season, which was announced without a specific date for 2026.
