September 2025 marks the 16th anniversary of Attack on Titan‘s debut in Bessatsu Shounen Magazine and fans will have the chance to own their own bit of franchise history. Since its debut, the unique and tragic story has won hearts all across the globe, even after several years have passed since its conclusion. While the manga concluded in 2021, the anime took years to adapt the story, even to the point of changing the studio since WIT couldn’t keep up with the tight deadlines.

As per Oricon, the new anniversary project offers fans an exclusive look at Hajime Isayama’s original illustrations, as well as the chance to choose their favorite of the 52 included. The illustrations all come repackaged as full-color collectibles, and fans can even create their own merchandise with a serial number. Not only that, but the project also includes the introduction of a one-of-a-kind illustration panel.

The manga released a total of 34 volumes, from which 52 visuals have been selected, which may include volume covers, panels, or extra illustrations by the mangaka. One of the visuals will also feature the cover of the official artbook FLYwhich showcases fan-favorite characters. The franchise has yet to unveil more information regarding the project or whether there are any other plans to celebrate the anniversary.

Last year, the manga celebrated its 15th anniversary with a few exciting updates, including the release of the official artbook FLY. This year also has a few surprises planned for fans, even though the details haven’t been unveiled. The original story has long since concluded, but there has been no official confirmation of a sequel or spin-off. Even though the original story ended after implying the continuation of the cycle, it doesn’t appear that the series’ creator, Hajime Isayama, has any plans to further expand the story as of yet. During the manga’s serialization, Isayama faced immense pressure, often struggling with burnout while trying to keep up with tight deadlines.

Meeting fans’ expectations became even more difficult as dissatisfaction grew toward the final chapters, ultimately resulting in one of the most controversial endings in manga history. The anime was adapted in 2013, four years after the manga’s debut, and concluded in 2023, shortly after celebrating its 10th anniversary. Although the author hasn’t been working on a new serialized manga, fans can look forward to Attack on Titan’s Season 4 SteelBook Blu-ray, which will be released on November 11, 2025.

It is available for pre-order on Crunchyroll’s official website and comes with several perks, including Behind the Scenes Footage from Production: 3DCG Animation and Staff Discussion. Additionally, the Blu-ray includes voice actor panels from the final season parts 1 and 2, Chibi Theater 1 and 2, an eyecatch gallery, promo videos, and creditless openings and endings. The Blu-ray features episodes 60–87 plus two specials, with a total runtime of 986 minutes. There’s a special discount for premium members, so don’t forget to grab yours! The anime is currently streaming on Crunchyroll and Hulu. As for the manga, the digital version is available on Kodansha’s official website.
