The girl group BabyMonster’s first full-length album “DRIP” achieved 1 million sales, its agency YG Entertainment said on the 27th.
As of this day, the cumulative sales of “Drip” have reached 1,011,352 copies. This is the first time in seven months since its release on Nov. 1 last year.
“Drip” sold more than 670,000 copies in the first week of its release, and sales increased about 1.7 times compared to its predecessor “BABYMONS7ER”.
YG said, “As album sales are considered an indicator of core fandom, it makes you realize the steep rise of BabyMonster,” adding, “The live skills proven around the world with the first world tour recently became a catalyst for the expansion of global fandom.”
BabyMonster will release its new song “HOT SAUCE” on July 1, followed by its second single in September and mini album in October. It will also appear in “Summer Sonic,” a large-scale Japanese music festival, on August 16.
