Bang Dream announced a new mini anime series titled Original! BanG Dream Chan. A teaser visual and an October 2025 release date were unveiled, featuring all five members of the band Poppin’Party. The announcement was first revealed at Poppin’Party 10th Anniversary LIVE held on May 26, 2025, at Nippon Budoukan.
The first anime season premiered in January 2017 with 13 episodes and was co-animated by Issen (a collaboration between OLM and Bushiroad) and Xebec. Studio Sanzigen later took over animation production for the second and third seasons, which aired in 2019 and 2020, respectively. A concert-focused anime film, BanG Dream! Film Live was released in 2019, followed by its sequel Film Live 2nd Stage in 2021.
More recently, an anime series focusing on the eighth and ninth bands, MyGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica were released and are also animated by studio Sanzigen. BanG Dream! It’s MyGO!!!!! premiered in June 2023, followed by its sequel BanG Dream! Ave Mujicawhich debuted in January 2025. A sequel to the MyGO and Ave Mujica anime series was also announced.
The franchise also previously had several spin-off mini anime series, including BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! Picoits sequel Pico: Ohmori and Pico Fever!both by Sanzigen and DMM.futureworks, and Pastel Life by Studio A-Cat.
