Life and career
1996–2015: Early life and career
Jennie Kim was born as the only child of her parents. His father owns a hospital, while his mother is a manager and shareholder in CJ&M. During her childhood, Jennie moved from her home to Auckland, New Zealand, where she studied for five years at ACG Parnell College. During her time abroad, she learned to speak fluent English in addition to basic Japanese and fluent Korean.

In 2010, Jennie moved to Seoul, South Korea, and the same year she successfully auditioned for YG Entertainment, where she was a YG trainee for six years.
