It all started with a post on social media that quickly gained traction. The anonymous writer, who claims to be a former trainee at the same company, described Kim Geon Woo as someone who took full advantage of his close ties with two senior staff members, identified only as “Chief S” and “Director K.” Because of their influence, the post claims, Kim was dubbed the “King of Company B,” feared by fellow trainees and allegedly treated like a superior by staff.
The accusations were quite disturbing. Kim allegedly skipped training, joined private drinking parties with those senior officials, and went on overseas vacations with them using company money. There were even claims of mistreatment and verbal abuse toward other trainees, with some reportedly suffering long-term mental health issues.
Screenshots of supposed patient records and talk of upcoming evidence have added to the uproar. In response, Mnet released a statement confirming that the Boys II Planet production team is actively investigating the situation. They’re reportedly speaking with former Company B employees and examining whether legal action may be necessary.

Still, fans online are bracing themselves. Many believe the show will go on regardless, and curiosity around the identity of “the center” has already led people to connect the dots. Whether these accusations will impact the show’s trajectory remains to be seen, but the drama has definitely started—just not the kind viewers were expecting.
Boys II Planet premieres July 17 at 9:20 PM KST for the K-group, followed by the C-group on July 18.
