Chainsaw Man is now tearing through theaters in Japan with a brand new movie, and the studio behind it is warning fans about leaks as they promise they will take “strict measures” against piracy. Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man has finally returned with a new anime entry years after the TV anime came to an end, and it’s a new feature film taking on a huge arc from the original manga. But with this film releasing around the world, it’s getting tougher for fans in some regions to wait for their chance to get to see the new film in action for themselves.

Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc has been doing very well for itself at the box office in international territories thus far, and through the Fall even more countries around the world will see the film too. But there are a few videos and more than have since hit the Internet, and the official social media account for the franchise has issued a stern warning to fans after noticing cede videos. Warning that they will take “strict measures” against copyright infringement, fans should take care to avoid any of these issues.

Chainsaw Man Studio Issues Warning Against Movie Leaks

“Regarding the theatrical film ‘Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc’,” the statement reads. “It has been confirmed that images or videos illegally recorded in theaters have been posted on the internet. Uploading illegally recorded videos to social media or video-sharing sites is also a violation of copyright and constitutes a crime. We will take strict measures, including filing criminal complaints, against malicious acts of copyright infringement. We kindly ask for your continued enjoyment of the theatrical film ‘Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc.’” Which falls in line with statements other films have shared in the past.

As anime films like Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle take over theaters, there’s also going to be an increase in piracy for the films as well as more eyes are drawn to them than ever before. This used to be because each of these anime films were released in Japan a good year before they started to launch in international territories, but that window has since narrowed a good deal in recent years. Like with Chainsaw Manthe wait for its United States release is only a month from its initial Japanese release. That kind of quick turnaround was pretty much unheard of before this year.
