In an interview with The Direct, actress Daniella Pineda complained early from the Netflix adaptation of “Cowboy Bebop”. We summarize.
Too hastily discontinued?
The list of modest live action adaptations of popular anime is long and you can easily find the Netflix real series on »Cowboy Bebop«. No wonder that the streaming giant pulled the ripcord after only ten episodes and despite a cliffhanger-and thus sealed the final one out of the series far too early.
This is at least the actress Daniella Pineda, who embodied the role of Faye Valentine. Because precisely because of the many negative reviews, the series would have earned a second season to prove itself.
Sometimes it takes more than a season to get things rolling and she can assure that people at “Cowboy Bebop” worked very hard and also did a lot of wonderful things. However, she would also understand why the fans could not make friends with the adaptation:
“I have the feeling that these anime mean a lot to people and are very personal, and I believe that people really establish a connection at the time they saw the series.”
In conclusion, she also named the culprits for the failure of the adaptation, because according to her, Netflix and the Tomorrow Studios, in which “One Piece” is also created, did not adequately appreciate the intellectual property of “Cowboy Bebop”.
