Mitchel Berger, head of the Kino & Sales department at Crunchyroll, commented on a possible third season of “Solo Leveling” at the Animation Day of the Marché du Film Festival in Cannes. We summarize below.
Is there a third season?
The panel on the animation day originally revolved around the upcoming premiere of the first film of the “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle” trilogy. However, in the past few weeks the question of a third season of “Solo Leveling” has dominated the conversations, which is why Berger also briefly spoke about this topic:
»We have just completed season 2 that was really successful for us – so I am sure that there will be further content in the future. We don’t know exactly when exactly, but they will come and the fans will continue to be able to pursue history. «
In doing so, he joins the previous tenor that an anime continuation of “Solo Leveling” is only a matter of time given the great success.
If it went to producer Sota Furuhashi, he would like to treat the animators a longer breather and at some point a third season to the next Olympic Summer Games in Los Angeles – in other words, in 2028.
The two previous seasons of »Solo Leveling« can be viewed in Germany with German and Japanese voice output at Crunchyroll. The first season will also be released on DVD and Blu-ray from July 18, 2025.
