On the X account of the anime adaptation of »Gintama« it was announced today that the new spin-off series will start on Japanese television on October 6, 2025. You can find a trailer in which the opening song is presented.
New series from BN Pictures
The spin-off is entitled “Gintama: Mr. Ginpachi’s Zany Class” and is produced under the direction of Natsumi Higashida (“Tokyo Mew Mew New”) in the studio BN Pictures. Makoto Moriwaki (“Pripara”) acts as a chief director.
The opening song entitled “Sakurakaze” comes from Botchi Boromaru (Ending song by “Babanba Banban Vampire”), while the ending song “Underclass Hero” is contributed by the band Longman (ending song by “Love All Play”).
The “Gintama” main series consists of 369 episodes as well as various specials and films that ran in Japan between April 2006 and January 2021. In Germany, the Crunchyroll streaming service offers the series with the exception of the final sequences on demand.
A new project, an anime film entitled “New Gintama The Movie: Yoshiwara in Flames”, which is a remake of the “Yoshiwara in Flames” Arcs, which was already adapted in episodes 139 to 146, is planned for 2026.

In this spin-off, which is implemented as anime for the 20th anniversary of “Gintama”, school life plays the main role.
Class 3-Z is not only full of students with special circumstances, but also has a crazy class teacher named Ginpachi-Sensei.
