The Japanese company Kojima Productions announced today that an anime series based on the “Death Stranding” franchise is currently in the works.
Exclusively on Disney+
The series, which tells an original story in the world of “Death Stranding,” has the provisional working title “Death Stranding Isolations” and is currently scheduled to appear exclusively on Disney+ in 2027.
The Japanese studio E&H production is responsible for the production, with Takayuki Sano (animation director on “Attack on Titan: Final Season”) directing and Ilya Kuvshinov (“The Wonderland”) creating the character design. “Death Stranding” creator Hideo Kojima serves as executive producer.
In addition to the series, an anime film with the working title “Death Stranding Mosquito” was announced just a few weeks ago. This is created at ABC ANIMATION STUDIO and also tells an original story. More details can be found here.
“Death Stranding” is an open-world game that was first released for the PlayStation 4 in November 2019. This is now also available for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
