The Critics Choice Association recently announced this year’s Celebration of AAPI Cinema & Television honorees, including “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle” and “KPop Demon Hunters.” We summarize.
Award ceremony in November 2025
Each year, the Celebration of AAPI Cinema & Television recognizes excellence and groundbreaking work on and behind the scenes in the Asia Pacific entertainment industry, and while this year’s awards ceremony doesn’t officially take place until November 14, 2025, the winners have already been announced.
Among them are the two successful titles “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Arc – Part 1” and “KPop Demon Hunters,” which have repeatedly made big headlines in recent weeks.
The latest film in the “Demon Slayer” franchise was awarded the “International Animation Award” due to its enormous success at the international box office. With box office receipts of over $600 million, the first part of the trilogy is now the highest-grossing anime film of all time.
The director and screenwriter Maggie Kang receives the “Animation Award” for her Netflix phenomenon “KPop Demon Hunters” – and rightly so, after all, the most successful Netflix film of all time not only set completely new standards on the world’s largest streaming service, but also dominated the global music charts for several weeks with its theme song “Golden”.
