Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle is so nearly in US theaters, and fans of the hit anime series are literally counting down the hours until the first screenings. Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and the Hashira are back on the big screen for Demon Slayer‘s second movie, this time taking them into the heart of the eponymous Infinity Castle to confront Muzan directly. With the US release less than a day away, a fresh batch of reviews has flooded the internet, and the film’s Rotten Tomatoes score has finally been generated. With that in mind, let’s see if Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is another banger of a movie in the franchise, or if the hype has finally died down surrounding the Shonen Jump hit.
Following the new batch of reviews, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle holds a near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score of 95%. 21 reviews have been submitted to the review aggregate site, so far, and they’re mostly positive. Let’s start with ComicBook’s very own Evan Valentine, who thoroughly enjoyed the movie, albeit with some gripes about the narrative and the pacing, writing, “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is a titanic outing in the anime world, taking what works best about the shonen series and amplifying it. Unfortunately, the same can be said for Demon Slayer’s weaknesses here, which we feel even out what makes the film work.” ComicBook gave Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle a rating of 3/5.
What Are Critics Saying About Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle?

The sentiment found in ComicBook’s review was shared by many critics. io9‘s review agreed, writing, “It’s not the most narratively trailblazing entry in the franchise, but it sets the stage for a finale that could be truly unforgettable.” Bloody Disgusting held a similar opinion, although the narrative shortcomings were too much for their critics, who bestowed the film with its only Rotten review so far. Their review read, “There’s lots to enjoy in Infinity Castle. Unfortunately, Infinity Castle’s biggest problem is that it barely feels like a movie, and it’s emblematic of all the issues that plague overstuffed, underwhelming franchise finales.”
The critics might be of two minds about Demon Slayer: Infinity Castlebut audiences are unambiguously adoring the film. The movie currently holds a perfect 100% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Once the film is out in US theaters on September 12, expect that score to fluctuate, as hundreds of thousands of Demon Slayer fans are expected to charge to their local theaters to watch the movie.
