Tanjiro and the Hashira are going to have their hands full fighting against the demonic Muzan and his lieutenants in Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle. While not yet a Hashira himself, Zenitsu is one of the swordsmen who plays a significant role in the first entry of the film trilogy. With the movie set to hit North American theaters on September 12th next week, the Ufotable production has given anime fans a new preview for the anime hit. Zenitsu is preparing to fight against a demon within Muzan’s headquarters that hits a little too close to home.
When last we left Zenitsu, the sleepwalking swordsman joined Tanjiro and Inosuke in the Hashira training arc. Working to increase his power after his absence during the Swordsmith Village Arc, one pivotal moment in the fourth season took place that might give fans a better idea of what is to come for the lightning-based hero. During his training, Zenitsu received a mysterious message that clearly had an impact on his emotional state of mind. Without diving too deep into spoiler territory, this message’s content will be revealed in the upcoming film, and the opponent Zenitsu will face had a significant role in the bad news that arrived on his doorstep. You can check out the new preview of Zenitsu fighting the mysterious Kaigaku below.
Zenitsu Unleashed

In our review of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castlewe here at ComicBook.com were sure to point out the strengths of the first entry of the trilogy, alongside its weaknesses. Specifically, Zenitsu’s battle helped illustrate what works and what doesn’t surrounding the film. Luckily, you’ll have the opportunity to see what we mean when the movie hits theaters next week and beyond. Here’s our breakdown from our review of the film:
“As for the overall story, there are three major fights that I mentioned earlier that take up the lion’s share of the movie’s runtime, and while nearly every character makes an appearance, some get left on the curb throughout. This might be more of a complaint with the source material, but some heroes have been waiting on the sidelines for quite a while, and we were saddened that they had little to no role here in Infinity Castle. Without diving into spoiler territory, there are two “main characters” in particular that felt wildly absent. As for the fights themselves, the weakest involves Zenitsu and a character who has mostly stuck to the shadows, but has big ties to the lightning-based swordsman. Said weakness doesn’t come down to the animation or fight choreography, but rather, due to the emotional connection that could have used more build-up in previous storylines outside of a “blink and you’ll miss it” drop in the fourth season’s Hashira Training Arc.”
