With the advancement of technology, animators have found new ways to find success in the marketplace. Such is certainly the case with Dana Terrace, the creator of Owl Housewho has released a brand new project under the umbrella of Glitch Productions. Recently, Terrace released a pilot episode for an animated project that is billed as a “psychological thriller” which most certainly would not find its way to the Disney Channel like Dana’s previous work. Despite this fact, the premiere installment has garnered some serious viewership and shown how animation can be as successful in releasing independently as via a major studio release.

Knights of Guinevere is a very different story from Owl Housefocusing on a future wherein technology has advanced by leaps and bounds from what we currently know. The official description, for those who might be unfamiliar with this new project, reads as such, “Knights of Guinevere is a psychological thriller set in the far future that welcomes you to a planet-wide amusement park in the clouds!… And the shadows beneath it, where a broken Princess Android might be two dreamers’ tickets to better lives, or the end of them.” After five days of release, the animated pilot has already been viewed over ten million times, proving that Terrace has a winning story on her hands.

Why Knights of Guinevere Is Worth The Watch

We can confidently say that there aren’t too many animated projects out there like Knights of Guinevereand this fact is definitely a compliment. The story itself focuses on an amusement park mascot whose backstory immediately starts in a gruesome fashion. Despite the main figure being a robot, Princess Android is shown to go through some tough times in such a way that it’s almost hard to look at. As mentioned earlier, the subject matter of this series would make it almost impossible to arrive on the Disney Channel, but you can still witness Terrace’s stellar animation work that helped the Owl House become a fan-favorite.

While future episodes have yet to be confirmed, the skyrocketing in viewership is good news for those who are hoping to see more of the world of Princess Android. In the past, YouTube has acted as a major springboard for some original animated series, with the Hellaverse being one of the most recognizable properties. Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss first got their start online but were eventually picked up by Amazon Prime Video, introducing the SpindleHorse-created stories to countless new viewers. It’s far from confirmed whether a streaming service will pick up Knights of Guinevere at this point, but signs are pointing in the right direction for this Dana Terrace project to follow in the footsteps of Charlie Morningstar and Blitzo.

As for whether Terrace plans on returning to Owl House, Dana stated in no uncertain terms that her time with the Disney property was done, “Besides, I don’t want a [The Owl House Season 4]. I don’t want to ‘redo’ anything or make my whole career centered around one show idea. But hey, if that ever changes you’d hear it straight from me not someone trying to get views on tiktok.”
