Following the release of Dragon Ball Daima last year, shonen fans have wondered what the future holds for Goku and his fellow Z-Fighters. No new anime projects have been confirmed following the conclusion of this side story, and the manga remains inactive. As fans wonder where Akira Toriyama’s franchise will go next, a major event that is coming from the shonen franchise might answer the prayers of anime fans worldwide. Dragon Ball is preparing to detail some major news for the series as a whole, and we have the details for the Z-Fighters’ future.

Next year will see the return of the “Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour,” not only diving into the gaming entries for the shonen franchise, but the series as a whole. While there is also Jump Festa arriving later this year that will put the focus on Weekly Shonen Jump across the board, “For Dragon Ball fans around the world, “Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026” is an event packed with the world of “Dragon Ball.” It will be held in Los Angeles, California, USA on Saturday, April 18th and Sunday, April 19th, 2026!” You can check out a new trailer for the upcoming event below.

As for where the anime could go in the future, there are major storylines that have yet to be animated from the Dragon Ball Super manga. Specifically, the Moro and Granolah The Survivor Arcs would potentially create years of anime stories focusing on Goku, Vegeta, and their allies. As for the manga, artist Toyotaro has been crowned the heir apparent of the series following the tragic passing of Akira Toriyama, but the series has yet to confirm what direction future stories will take. One of the biggest story elements that will need addressing is Frieza’s new transformation and how “Black Frieza” has made the villain the strongest being in the universe.
