The Japanese animation studio Production IG recently announced that director Hideaki Anno was appointed to the company’s board.
Realignment on the board
Hideaki Anno is undoubtedly an important personality in the anime industry. After launching the franchise “Neon Genesis Evangelion” as a co-founder of the legendary anime studio Gainax, he founded his own anime studio with Khara in 2006, in which he sometimes acts as President.
But apparently not busy enough, Anno has now been appointed to the board of production IG (»Kaiju No. 8«), where his appointment comes into force on August 21, 2025. The announcement was confirmed by Production IG and Khara.
You may want to realign yourself at Production IG, because at the same time Tomonori Tanaka, currently a member of the board of the EAST Group Holdings, will be included in the management committee of the studio.
