Fans Cast 26 Million Votes to Create ALD1, the Next Global Kpop Sensation

The wait is finally over. After eleven weeks of intense performances, emotional eliminations, and millions of fan votes, Mnet’s Boys II Planet has introduced its brand-new boy group: ALPHA DRIVE ONE, also known as ALD1.

The finale aired on September 25 and wasted no time bringing excitement. Contestants performed one last time before the long-anticipated group name was revealed. ALPHA DRIVE ONE stands for unity, ambition, and passion, symbolizing one team striving together to be the best. For fans, it represents a new chapter in Kpop history.

The final lineup includes eight members chosen through about 26.6 million votes from fans in 223 countries and regions, making this season the most globally voted survival show in Mnet’s history. The winning roster features Lee Sangwon, Zhou Anxin, Xinlong, Kim Geonwoo, Zhang Jiahao, Leo, Chung Sanghyeon, and Kim Junseo.

Each finalist has their own story that carried them to this moment. Lee Sangwon, who once trained under BIGHIT MUSIC’s Trainee A, redeemed the heartbreak of his canceled debut by securing the number one spot with more than seven million votes. Zhou Anxin proved himself a consistent fan-favorite, while Xin Long brought years of experience as a member of BOY STORY. Kim Geonwoo impressed with steady growth amidst controversies, and Zhang Ji Hao’s dance talent captured hearts early on. Leo, once part of Trainee A, showcased his all-rounder abilities, while Sang Hyeon charmed viewers with his visuals and determination.
