The Japanese publisher Kadokawa announced today that the fantasy novel “The Tale of the Scholar-Official Matsurika” (Japanese: “Matsurika Kanriden”) receives an anime adaptation. You can find a first teaser below.

The anime implementation is a TV series that is broadcast on Japanese television at a time that has not yet been mentioned. Further details, such as those involved in the production, are still pending.
The original Light-Novel series of the same name by Rinne Ishida has been published with illustrations by Izumi in Japan since July 2015. The Kadokawa publishing house has so far brought 17 volumes in printed form to Japanese trade.
A manga adaptation of Waka Takase was released from August 2018 to September 2025 in the »Monthly Princess« magazine and was summarized in twelve volumes. Neither works are currently not available in German or with English translation.
