The new “Alice in Wonderland” adaptation is being built under the direction of director Toshiya Shinohara (“Red Data Girl”) in the studio paworks. Yuuko Kakihara (“Pseudo Harem”) writes the script, while Kousuke Kawatsura (“Komada: A Whiskey Family”) and Mio Fujishima create character design.
The insert song “Zukan”, which can be heard in the trailer, comes from the band Sekai No Owari, which has already contributed the theme song for “Mary and the Flower of the Witches”. The Japanese cinema premiere of the film takes place on August 29, 2025.
The original novel by the British writer Lewis Carroll was first published in 1865. Since then, this inspired numerous real films, cartoon films and a 52-part anime series that was broadcast from October 1983 to March 1984 and is available in a complete DVD.
