Futurama has returned for a new season of episodes with Hulu, and the voice cast behind it all shared their hopes with ComicBook about returning for more seasons. Futurama is back and stronger than ever as its newest season with Hulu has been the strongest of its current revival era yet, and the animated series is firing off on all cylinders with the original voice cast behind it all. It’s a huge accomplishment for an animated series to have its same cast sticking around for such a long time (and through multiple cancellations), and the cast behind it all is behind the series more than ever too.
ComicBook got the chance to speak with Billy West (who voices Fry, Professor Farnsworth and Zoidberg), Lauren Tom (who voices Amy) and Phil Lamarr (who voices Hermes) all about their return for the new season, and they each expressed their hope in coming back for more episodes in the future. Because while Futurama has already been confirmed for a Season 14 with Hulu, the cast themselves revealed they’re interested in coming back for as long as the series will continue to run for.
Futurama’s Cast Hopes to See the Show Continue

“I always say we are hopeful waiting to hear if they want to pick it up again for another season,” Billy West stated. “And if they want to do that, I’m so there. And if not, I’m going to run away. I’m going to go traveling the world. What’s left of it.” As for Lauren Tom, she completely agreed, “Oh my gosh, yes. So please watch it a lot you guys.” Phil Lamarr also agreed with the sentiment as well. Speaking to the lasting power of the Futurama series even through all of these cancellations, Lamarr noted how it’s one that he’s always asked about by fans.
“It’s the way that so many people really enjoy the show,” Lamarr stated. “I don’t think of any other show I’ve worked on where people come up. It’s like, ‘Oh, I’ve watched every episode eight times. I watch them before I go to bed.’” As Billy West revealed, there’s a big contingent of fans who actually watch the series to help them go to sleep, “There’s a whole community of people that sleep to Futurama. That’s right. It’s not an insult. They’re not bored. They just feel so comfortable. It’s a comfort show I heard.“
Will Futurama Continue With a New Season?

“I think it’s also the incredible writing and there’s a certain sweetness and innocence about our show that’s been retained all throughout,” Tom explained. “We have really smart fans that can understand the writing. I just think those are the key ingredients that keep bringing it back.” As for that potential future with Hulu, Futurama will be continuing with Season 14 presumably premiering next year but a release window has yet to be confirmed by the streaming service as of this time.
It’s also yet to be revealed if Futurama is interested in continuing the animated series beyond Season 14, but it’s clear that fans are hoping to see that happen. And with the cast also revealing the same sentiment in hoping to see the show continue, hopefully fans will be met with some great news in the future.
