Yuto Suzuki’s Weekly Shonen Jump hit, Sakamoto Dayshas always had a massive fan following long before the anime adaptation was even released. This action-comedy follows retired assassin Taro Sakamoto, who was once feared as the greatest hitman of all time, but never spares a thought before leaving his job for the sake of his wife. Five years after his retirement, his peaceful life with his wife and daughter is suddenly put in jeopardy after his past comes back to haunt him. Just last month, word of the manga entering its final battle shook the community as they prepared to bid farewell to the beloved series, almost five years since its debut.

However, there has still been no official confirmation of the series’ finale or the release date of the last chapter, so it may take a few more months for Suzuki to completely wrap up the story. The ongoing New JAA Arc unleashes widespread chaos in the country after Kei Uzuki’s devious plan results in the complete collapse of society. Taro and his allies must now do everything they possibly can to stop him before it’s too late. While the manga has been delivering one intense chapter after another to prepare for the upcoming finale, the franchise is nowhere near finished with new projects, especially since the anime has plenty of exciting story left to adapt in the upcoming seasons. Not only that, but a live-action film has already been confirmed, although details are still scarce at the moment.

However, last year, he had to take a hiatus due to his deteriorating health. Yet despite his recurring health issues, he is currently taking on more projects, with two of them still awaiting further information. Sakamoto Days’ live-action is one of those projects, alongside Ren’s role in The Royal Familya Japanese drama.

Fukuda Yuichi will be directing the film, which is set to be released in two parts. According to @WSJ_manga on X, more details about the film will be shared on September 23rd, 2025.
