Debut members and song to be revealed Oct. 21
Hybe Latin America’s new boy group Santos Bravos will make its highly anticipated debut next month at a concert at Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City.
Santos Bravos will be formed through a 12-episode reality series of the same name, which has been airing since August on YouTube, Spotify, ViX and the music channel EXA TV. The group members and their debut song will be revealed during episode 11 of the series, slated for Oct. 21.
The 16 participants from various countries, including Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Venezuela, Argentina, Peru, Spain and the US, are participating in the reality show. Only five will make the final lineup.
Santos Bravos is Hybe’s second major project targeting Latin American audiences, launched under Hybe Chairman Bang Si-hyuk’s multi-home, multi-genre strategy. It aims to extend beyond Korea and K-pop by cultivating artists across different countries and music genres.
Under the strategy, Hybe has applied the production, training and promotion methods that have made K-pop a global success to create global stars abroad. Previously, Hybe Latin America ran its first local band audition program, “Pasa a la Fama,” which led to the formation of the band Musa. The group is slated to debut later this year.
Meanwhile, Hybe Latin America said the Santos Bravos concert will be live-streamed on Hybe Label’s official YouTube channel. The group sold out the 5,000-seat auditorium on the first day of ticket sales, and the company is considering making additional seats available.
A special guest may also make an appearance during the show, according to Hybe.
