I-dle drops prerelease from 8th EP

Girl group I-dle signaled its return with the music video for a track from its upcoming eighth EP, “We Are,” on Friday.

Filmed in Paris, the video shows the five members offering consolation to a friend after a breakup.

Electro-pop track “Girlfriend,” co-written by Soyeon, is a prerelease from the group’s mini album which drops May 19. The EP will consist of six tracks including the titular track.

The group formerly known as (G)I-dle changed its name last week as a symbolic gesture marking the beginning of a new chapter, and even held a “funeral” for the old name. The five members renewed their contracts with agency Cube Entertainment in December last year after seven years.
