On the 19th, I-DLE will release their 8th mini-album “We are” meaning “we” following the “I” series they have built for 7 years.
I-DLE made their debut with their mini album “I am” in 2018. Starting with “I am,” which contains “I,” which introduces each member and team, it attracted attention with its own production, which is rare for a girl group. Along with the success of their debut song “LATATA,” they successfully succeeded in mini albums “I made,” “I trust,” and “I burn,” building an unrivaled world view of music.
In particular, during this period, I-DLE were popularly loved for conceptual music such as “LATATA,” “Hann,” “Senorita,” “Uh-Oh,” “Oh my God,” “DUMDi DUMDi”, and more.
2022 was a huge inflection point for I-DLE who have been growing steadily. The title song “TOMBOY” of the first full-length album “I NEVER DIE” and the title song “Nxde” of the fifth mini album “I love,” which were released after more than a year of preparations, opened the “I-DLE’s Era” by sweeping domestic music charts and music broadcasts.
It continued its momentum by winning 13 music broadcast trophies and million seller titles with the “Queencard” of its sixth mini album “I feel” released in 2023. The second full-length album, “2,” which was released the following year, broke its own record with a triple hit of 1.53 million sales in the first week of its release, including the pre-released song “Wife,” the title song “Super Lady,” and the track “Fate.”
In particular, I-DLE solidified their position as top artists by winning their first grand prize since their debut in 2024 at the “Melon Music Awards,” which received the Rookie of the Year award in 2018.
After renewing their contracts last year, I-DLE members will come back with their eighth mini album. “Girlfriend,” the song that was released before the release of the album, heralded another world of music for I-DLE with comforting messages and cheerful singing along with their friends who had a breakup.
I-DLE, who started with “I” and built up a narrative one by one, started a new journey by changing the team name from (G)I-DLE to I-DLE. With a clear theme consciousness and colorful sound, I-DLE will unfold as “us.”
