A few days ago, the Japanese holding company IG Port published its financial report for the past ten years, which “Attack on Titan” (Japanese: “Shineki No Kyojin”) names as the most valuable franchise. We summarize.
Most successful franchise title
The finance report covers the period from June 2015 to February 2025 and shows how much money the various anime productions with licensing through voD services, disc sales, merchandising, video games and more.
At the head of the franchise titles is “Attack on Titan” with income of 2.188 billion yen (around 13.6 million euros). This is followed by “Haikyu !!” (1.855 billion yen), “The Ancient Magus’ Bride” (1.545 billion yen), “Ghost in the Shell” (1,367 billion yen) and “Spy X Family” (1.042 billion yen).
If you look at the individual titles, the film “Ghost in the Shell Sac_2045” was the most successful with 1.041 billion yen (around 6.4 million euros).
This is followed by the first season of “The Ancient Magus’ Bride” (949 million yen), “Haikyu !! The Dumpster Battle “(829 million yen), the first” Attack on Titan “relay (639 million yen) and the third” Attack on Titan “relay (523 million yen).
IG Port is the parent company of anime studios like Wit Studio (UA “Attack on Titan”, “The Ancient Magus’ Bride” and “Spy X Family”) as well as Production IG (UA “Haikyu !!!” and “Ghost in the Shell”).
