IVE’s Jang Wonyoung has left fans stunned after revealing that she went through military training for a variety show on less than an hour of rest.

On August 28, Wonyoung appeared as a special guest on the YouTube series Jeongwaja, joining EXO’s Kai for ROTC training at Seokyeong University. Viewers were entertained by her lively spirit at the start, only to see her slowly grow exhausted as the program’s physically demanding drills pushed her limits. What fans didn’t know at the time was that Wonyoung had only managed 50 minutes of sleep before filming.

The next day, she confessed on a fan communication app that she had been shooting a music video right before the training session. “Did you all watch Military Wonyoung?” she wrote. “I seriously thought it would be shooting practice, not guerrilla training. The day before, I had an MV shoot, so I only slept 50 minutes before heading straight into the training.” She even shared that there was a heatwave warning that day, but still managed to laugh it off, calling the experience unexpectedly fun.

Her comments quickly spread online, with netizens both amazed and worried. Some marveled at her professionalism, calling her “superhuman” for staying cheerful and sharp despite extreme fatigue. Others admitted they would have collapsed under the same conditions, urging her agency to monitor her schedule more carefully.

What truly shocked fans was that Wonyoung didn’t stop there. Right after the training ended, she hopped on a flight to Germany to perform at Lollapalooza. The packed schedule only added to her reputation for resilience, with fans praising her stamina, mentality, and ability to stay positive no matter the circumstance.
