JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Part 7 – Steel Ball Run officially has an anime adaptation in production. The announcement was made at the JOJODAY event, which was promoted as connecting the ‘past’ and the ‘future’ of the series. The event had Kendo Kobayashi as the MC, and it was attended by the following voice cast and talents:



  • Kazuyuki Okitsu (Jonathan joestar)
  • Daisuke Ono (Jotaro Kujo)
  • Judgy (Leone Abbacchio)
  • Fairouz ai (Jolyne Cujoh)
  • JO☆STARS (Theme songs’ performers, consists of TOMMY, Coda, and JIN)
  • Tomokazu Sugita (Joseph Joestar, Via Video)
  • Yuki Ono (Josuke Higashikata, via video)
  • Kensho Ono (GIOVANNA DAY, VIA VIDEO)

To celebrate the anime announcement, all 24 volumes of the manga will be available for free for 24 hours on the Young Jump app. It will apply for the period from April 13 at 00:00 to April 14 at 23:59 JST.


Hirohiro araki began JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure (JoJo no Kimyo na Boken) in 1987. It was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine until 2004, while it was transferred to Ultra Jump in 2005. The manga follows different protagonist with the nickname “JoJo,” and Part 9 is currently ongoing. They have been:

  • Phantom Blood (1987–1988)
  • Battle Tendency (1988–1989)
  • Stardust Crusaders (1989–1992)
  • Diamond Is Unbreakable (1992–1995)
  • Golden Wind (1995–1999)
  • Stone Ocean (1999–2003)
  • Steel Ball Run (2004–2011)
  • Jojolion (2011–2021)
  • The JoJoLands (2023–present)

Studio David Production has animated the first six parts, with the Stone Ocean anime releasing its final part in December 2022.

What Will JoJo Part 7 – Steel Ball Run Anime Be About?

VIZ Media will release the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Part 7 – Steel Ball Run manga in English in Summer 2025. It’s the first part to be in a different continuity from Jonathan Joestar’s story, which ended with Jolyn in Part 6. VIZ describes the story for Steel Ball Run:
Riders from around the world gather in the Wild West for the race of the century! Johnny Joestar, a former jockey paralyzed from the waist down, comes to spectate, and momentarily regains the ability to walk while watching a duel fought by Gyro Zeppeli. Desperate to learn more about this power, Johnny joins the race alongside Gyro and embarks on the most epic and bizarre race to ever cross the American frontier!

The latest manga part, The JoJoLands, began in February 2023, focusing on “one boy’s path to millionaire status in subtropical islands.”
