From Season 3 of both One Punch Man and Spy x Family to My Hero Academia’s eighth and final season, the Fall 2025 season is as stacked as can be with one exciting release after another, and it just got even more exciting with the addition of Jujutsu Kaisen. As if fans didn’t already have enough to look forward to this fall, Jujutsu Kaisen is also making a return with a special early Season 3 premiere — however, there’s just one catch. It hasn’t been long since Jujutsu Kaisen revealed that Season 3 would premiere sometime in 2026, but ever since, fans have desperately been hoping for an early release.

Well, it seems like this request was heard as in a livestream held earlier today, Jujutsu Kaisen finally revealed that Season 3 will release in January 2026. Furthermore, a compilation film of the Shibuya Arc has also been announced. Besides getting a much-needed refresher on Season 2 and all the phenomenal fights from the Shibuya Incident, the new compilation film will also give fans their first-ever glimpse of Season 3, specifically the first two episodes of Season 3’s Culling Game Arc, and its releasing in theaters not in 2026, but this fall.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Is Coming to Theaters This Fall

As revealed by GKIDS, Jujutsu Kaisen’s upcoming compilation film has been dubbed Jujutsu Kaisen: Executionclearly referencing Yuji’s impending execution by Yuta Okkotsu, who appears at the end of Season 2. The film will be released in Japan on November 7th, making its way to North American theaters on December 5th, where it will be distributed by GKIDS. Along with the release info, a new poster for the film and the Culling Game Arc has also been unveiled and features Yuji and Yuta surrounded by snapshots of moments from the Shibuya Arc.

So far, Toho Animation and GKIDS have yet to announce release dates for any other regions, but Jujutsu Kaisen fans can rest assured that the film will eventually make its way around the globe, as the post by Toho does say to stay tuned for updates regarding the global release.

Seeing as fans would have otherwise had to wait till January to get their hands on Season 3, the special premiere is much appreciated, even if it is only two episodes. That said, the month-long wait between the Japan and North American release is admittedly a little disappointing. All that said, judging by the new trailer, Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen looks like it will exceed expectations yet again, and fans definitely have a lot to look forward to in terms of the action as well as the story.

Jujutsu Kaisen is available to stream on Crunchyroll. Will you be watching Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution in theaters, and what are you most excited to see in Season 3? Tell us in the comments below!
