The Jujutsu Kaisen manga reached its conclusion in September 2024, but it didn’t reveal the epilogue until the release of the final volume in December 2024. It included four character POVs, including one centered on Panda in the future, where he is placed inside the storeroom of the Gojo Clan. We also saw two young kids wanting to play with Panda, who were introduced as Yuta Okkotsu’s grandchildren. Fans already had a clear idea of who Yuta ended up marrying, but it was never officially stated in the epilogue, so everything we thought couldn’t be considered factual. It never hurts to rely on official confirmation, and the latest sequel manga, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulogave us the answer we needed.

Written by the original creator, Gege Akutami, and illustrated by Yuji Iwasaki, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo began serialization on Weekly Shonen Jump starting September 7th, 2025. It will run for about six months before concluding, and it’s set 68 years after the Culling Game began. In the year 2086, an alien race called Simurian has discovered that a tiny percentage of Japan’s population have the same powers as they have, and they call themselves Jujutsu sorcerers. 50,000 Simurians have since then invaded the country, and it’s considered a threat on an equal level to Ryomen Sukuna. After the introduction of the aliens, the debut chapter follows Yuta’s grandchildren, and we finally get the confirmation that he married Maki Zenin.

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Confirmed Yuta and Maki Were Married

While the manga doesn’t specify when they got married, they lived for decades after the Sukuna raid, and had children and even grandchildren. We only meet their grandchildren, Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu, who are part of the main trio along with Maru, short for Marulu Val Vol Yelvori, a Simurian working with the Jujutsu sorcerers as an inspector. Maki died about six decades after the Sukuna raid, and Yuta followed her not long after. He seemed to have lost all his energy after the death of his wife and met his demise after entrusting his ring to his granddaughter, Yuka. Yuta and Maki met in their first year of high school, and their ship immediately became famous in the fandom after the prequel film.

Their bond was further explored in the main story when Yuta returned from Africa shortly after the Shibuya Incident was over. The two of them ending up together wasn’t much of a shock in the fandom, even though the hints of their romance were often incredibly subtle. The two of them are the only confirmed couple from the main story among Gojo students, and we have yet to learn what happened to the others. Since the sequel keeps mentioning the characters from the main story, we may learn about the others during its serialization.
