Hello, this is JYPE.
We would like to update you on the status of legal proceedings regarding acts that infringe upon the rights of our artists.
We have repeatedly announced our policy of taking firm action against cases that violate fundamental rights, such as personal rights, in order to protect our artists. Based on evidence gathered through fan reports and our own internal monitoring, we are currently pursuing legal action.
Recently, we have collected malicious posts and comments from domestic and international online communities and social media channels that defame and insult our artists by spreading false information and malicious slander, and we have recently filed criminal complaints. We will actively cooperate with the necessary investigations by the relevant authorities and intend to take strong civil and criminal measures.
As previously stated, there will be absolutely no leniency or settlement during this process. We will continue to monitor for any illegal activities that infringe upon our artists’ personal rights and disrupt their stable activities, and we will respond strictly, including by filing additional legal complaints
If you have any evidence of such illegal acts, we ask for your active support in reporting it to us. ([email protected])
Thank you.
This firm action shows larger problems in the Kpop industry. As global popularity grows, so do online threats. Fans around the world have been contributing by gathering screenshots and evidence of harmful behavior to support JYP’s efforts against harassment.
