In collaboration with Honeyfeed and Myanimelist, Kadokawa started a global English-language Isekai writing competition. We summarize.
Global Isekai competition
The extremely popular, but still very overloaded Isekai genre does not seem to be over-at least not for the media group Kadokawa, who is now the MyAnimeList x Honeyfeed Writing Contest 2025 – THE ISEKAI announced.
From July 7, 2025, aspiring authors from all over the world can submit their stories, in which protagonists are transported or reincarnated in fantasy owners, who are then published directly on the Honeyfeed web-Roman platform. The closing date for entries is September 29, 2025.
From September 30 to November 16, 2025, an internal jury, including Aneko Yusagi (“The Rising of the Shield Hero”), will first assess all titles and create a top 10, which will then be publicly coordinated on the Myanimelist review platform from November 17 to December 15, 2025.
The winner will finally be announced on February 9, 2026 and can look forward to a prize money of $ 5,000 and the possibility of publishing his history by Kadokawa in Japan. If no work meets the requirements for a publication, two to three works with prize money of $ 3,000 each will be awarded instead of a main prize.
You can find the exact conditions of participation here and even if you don’t send anything, you can soon look forward to a flood of new works with hopefully new ideas. But who knows, maybe one of our readers has been waiting for the perfect Isekai story and has been waiting for a way for a long time to publish them.
