The Summer 2025 anime season is nearing its end, and with it, several ongoing titles are concluding, including Shonen Jump’s standout, Kaiju No. 8 Season 2. This season has been especially intense, revealing the fate awaiting the main hero, Kafka Hibino, after his identity as Kaiju No. 8 was exposed. Fans were stunned when he and Kikoru Shinomiya joined the Defense Force’s First Division, strengthening its already unmatched power. However, events escalated quickly with Kaiju No. 9’s true plan coming to light, causing heavy casualties and forcing the Defense Force to prepare for his inevitable attack.
The previous episode ended with Defense Force soldiers solidifying their positions for the coming battle. With clear hints of a new arc beginning, Kaiju No. 8 has now released a new teaser confirming the all-out war between the Defense Force and Kaiju No. 9, along with the monsters he has created. The teaser offers the first look at the key characters who will play major roles in the fight, showcasing their growth since Kaiju No. 9’s devastating attack, which claimed Isao Shinomiya’s life, and it hints that the final two episodes are going to be filled with heavy action before ending on a gripping note.
Kaiju No. 8 New Trailer Teases Intense Action for the Final Two Episodes
The new trailer for Kaiju No. 8 highlights the key characters on the front lines, each equipped with their respective Kaiju weapons. Narumi Gen, clad in the Kaiju No. 1 weapon suit, naturally takes the lead, while the trailer also offers a first look at Hoshina Soshiro wielding the Kaiju No. 10 suit. Adding to the surprise, it confirms that Shinomiya will inherit the Kaiju No. 4 weapon suit, carrying on her mother’s legacy as she confronts the enemy that devoured her father. Reno Ichikawa also appears in the teaser with the Kaiju No. 6 weapon suit, hinting at his improved control over its power.
Meanwhile, Ashiro Mina supports from the rear, sniping Kaiju with her massive rifle and reinforcing the defense forces. The series’ main hero, Kafka Hibino, also makes an appearance in the trailer, though notably not in his Kaiju form. This suggests that, with his transformation taking a toll on his body, he may now reserve it for dire moments. Speaking of which, the trailer closes on a grim note, with the key characters staring ahead in concern. With only two episodes left, it seems likely that Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 will not conclude the current battle but instead end on a major cliffhanger, leaving fans eager for the next season.
