Although it is difficult to compare directly, it is a remarkable achievement considering that KATSEYE is now in its second year of activities.
At the time of their debut EP “SIS (Soft Is Strong)” activities, Spotify monthly listeners (as of August 15 to September 11, 2024) were about 8.19 million. Since then, KATSEYE, which has steadily developed its presence and reached 10 million monthly listeners earlier this year, raised its class further by officially releasing its second EP “BEAUTIFUL CHAOS” in June.
KATSEYE is also gaining popularity in major global charts. “Gabriela,” the track of “BEAUTIFUL CHAOS,” has jumped 20 notches from the previous week to No. 77 in the U.K.’s official single top 100 (August 15-21), marking the sixth consecutive week of charting. In particular, “Gnarly” continues to be “long-run popularity” even though it has been more than three months since the pre-release of the music in the form of a digital single. The song has surpassed 100 million cumulative streams on Spotify in 52 days of its release, and is currently close to reaching 200 million. “Gabriela” achieved 100 million streams on Spotify in 38 days earlier, and the total number of cumulative plays of 13 songs released by KATSEYE has exceeded 1 billion times.
KATSEYE is expanding its global influence with a wide musical spectrum and intense live performance based on its overwhelming skills. It recently won favorable reviews from local media and critics, wowing tens of thousands of audiences at the Lollapalooza Chicago, the largest music festival in the U.S. They will appear at ‘Summer Sonic 2025’ in Tokyo, Japan, on the 17th.
