On the official X-account of the anime adaptation of “This Monster Wants to Eat Me” (Jap.: “Watashi Wo Tabetai, Hitodenashi”), it was announced today that it will be broadcast in Japan from October 2, 2025. You can find a new trailer below.
Opening presented
“This Monster Wants to Eat Me” is created under the direction of Yuusuke Suzuki (“Duel Masters Win”) in the Lings studio. Mitsutaka Hirota (“My Wife has no emotion”) writes the script, while Sou Ikuyama creates the character design.
The opening song with the title “Nie”, which can be heard in the trailer, comes from the Japanese singer Yoshino (opening of “Shy Hero and the Assassin Princesses”) and the ending song “Lily” is sung by the voice viewer Reina Ueade.
Sai Naekawa’s original manga series of the same name has been published in the »Dengeki Maoh« magazine since August 2020. From December 2025, the work will be launched by the Tokyopop publisher with German translation.

Hinako, lonely tortured in a coastal city and tortured by its past, hardly sees sense in everyday school life. But when a sea monster attacks her, she saves the mysterious mermaid Shiori.
Hinako wants to eat this at some point, but promises to protect it until then – a macabre promise that Hinako comfortably consoles.
