In a recent interview, the directors of “KPOP Demon Hunters” said that a live action adaptation of the Netflix surprise hit is currently rather unlikely. We summarize the details below.
Implementation very difficult
For a few days now, “KPOP Demon Hunters” has officially been the most successful Netflix title of all time, which is why those responsible behind the scenes are of course already thinking about the future of the original animated film.
In addition to several sequels and a stage musical, there was also talk of a real film in the rumor mill, but this project should probably be most unlikely, as the two directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans clarified as part of an interview with CBR.
The main reason for this is that “KPOP Demon Hunters” was an enormous challenge as an animated film and that a real film was even more complicated, if not impossible. Therefore, neither Kang nor Applehans could currently imagine a live action implementation.
But even if this seems to be off the table first, this of course has no influence on a possible sequel – even if there is still nothing to be announced from the official side.
