
With the opening of an official website, it was announced today that the manga series “Let’s Go Kaikigumi” (Japanese: “Rettsu go Kaikigumi”) is getting an anime adaptation. You can find a first teaser below.
Starting next year
“Let’s Go Kaikigumi” is directed by Yutaka Hirata (“Kokoro Connect”) at Studio C-Station. Mutsumi Ito (“Laid-Back Camp”) is writing the script, while Yoshimitsu Yamashita (“Samurai Flamenco”) is contributing the character design.
The main roles of the Japanese voice cast include Tasuku Hatanaka (Reki Kyan in “SK8 the Infinity”) as the nameless protagonist and Ruriko Aoki (Ouka Makuzawa in “The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses”) as Mechako. According to current plans, the horror series will start in Japan next year.
The original manga series of the same name was written by Byuu and was published on the “Omocoro” website from July 2018 to July 2024. The publishing house Shogakukan brought the work to Japanese retailers in five volumes.

On one fateful day, the cowardly, nameless protagonist meets Mechako, the leader of the “Kaikigumi”, an organization responsible for scaring people with ghosts and supernatural beings.
By chance he becomes involved in their revival – and soon strange, but by no means frightening phenomena begin to appear around him.
