After we recently reported on the design of the limited edition of the “Rascal Does Not Dream” films from peppermint anime, it can now also be pre-ordered from the online retailer Amazon. We summarize.
Release in December 2025
“Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out” and “Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid” will be released on Blu-ray as a joint limited edition on December 5, 2025. The two strips will then be available individually as a standard edition from February 20, 2026. DVD versions are currently not planned.
The limited edition includes both films with German and Japanese dubbing, a hardcover slipcase, two film-length audio commentaries, two booklets, various art cards and an acrylic stand.
The two evening fillers are directly linked to the film “Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl” and at the same time serve as a direct prequel to the series “Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus,” which ran in simulcast on Crunchyroll in the summer 2025 season. Another sequel has already been announced.

Kaede gains new courage and wants to attend her brother’s high school – a big step since she has only recently left the house again. Sakuta supports her sensitively as he and Mai begin their last school year together.
»Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid«:
On the day of Mai’s graduation, a girl who looks like her younger self shows up, much to Sakuta’s amazement. At the same time, her father reports: The mother, who once couldn’t stand Kaede, is in the hospital and now wants to see her.
