The chilling story takes place inside “Gwisi,” a ghost-trading marketplace that appears only when a fox window is formed. In this unsettling world, people gamble with supernatural forces to gain the things they crave most, and the price of their desires quickly turns terrifying.
Among the cast, four Kpop idols bring fresh energy to the screen. MAMAMOO’s leader and powerhouse vocalist Solar takes on her first big screen role as Miyeon, a young woman who leaves for a rural village to pursue her dream of becoming a writer. Known for her strong stage presence and commanding voice, Solar now faces the challenge of embodying fear, ambition, and vulnerability in a way that fans have never seen before.
STAYC’s Bae Sumin makes her official film debut as Suyeon, the daughter of a desperate mother. Her character captures the suffocating anxiety of students obsessed with grades and university admissions. Lovelyz’ Seo Jisoo, already recognized for her performance in “Seoul Ghost Story,” returns to horror as Eunseo, a woman whose obsession with beauty drags her into a dangerous deal. Her transition from idol to actress has been steady, and “The Cursed” shows just how much she’s grown in range and intensity.
Meanwhile, WJSN’s Son Juyeon (best known to fans as Eunseo) adds a modern twist to the horror genre. She plays Eunjin, an international student whose fixation on social media and chasing views leads her into terrifying circumstances. With her transformation into a character consumed by influencer culture, she taps into one of today’s most relatable fears.

Although the film also boasts seasoned actors like Moon Chaewon, Seo Younghee, and Yoo Jaemyung, it’s the idols who steal the spotlight for fans. Seeing Solar, Sumin, Jisoo, and Juyeon dive into horror marks a new chapter in their careers, proving that Kpop stars continue to blur the lines between music and film.
“The Cursed” is rated 15 and up and is now screening in theaters nationwide, offering both horror enthusiasts and Kpop fans the perfect fall watch.
