Mobile Suit Gundam has had numerous clothing and lifestyle collaborations, with most of these being tied to the original series. Now, “First Gundam” and a recent hit movie are set to be part of a new apparel line, releasing both in Japan and overseas.
A collaboration between Graniph and Strict-G, the new line of Gundam clothing, seen below, will soon hit Japanese retailers. Among the collection includes a shirt with a rather infamous scene from the original anime. Coming out in only a matter of weeks, these clothing items sadly do have a caveat in terms of how international fans can lay claim to them.
Produced by Graniph and Strict-G, the latter of which is Bandai’s Gundam lifestyle and clothing brand, a line of upcoming clothes and other products unite both the first and the latest entries in the mecha series. In the case of the new hit movie Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom, this means several new t-shirts based on the film. In the case of the original Mobile Suit Gundam, also known as First Gundam, t-shirts, hoodies, hats, socks, bags and tumblers will all feature in the collection. In fact, one of the shirts recreates the infamous and iconic “Bright Slap” that happens to main character Amuro Ray.
