My Dress-Up Darling has officially wrapped up Season 2 with its final episode of the Summer, and fans have gotten a disappointing update for the anime’s future. The Summer 2025 anime season is now coming to an end as all of the latest wave of anime air their final episodes, and some of them have resulted in announcements that they are continuing with new episodes in the future. It’s part of the excitement after seeing one of these anime come to an end, so fans are always curious to find out what the future of their favorite anime might hold even after a big finale.

Unfortunately, My Dress-Up Darling fans have been hit with nothing but disappointment following the end of the second season. Not only did it wrap up with an original scene not seen in Shinichi Fukuda’s original manga release, but it also seemed to be meant as a sort of definitive conclusion. Adding further to this disappointment is the fact that My Dress-Up Darling has yet to reveal whether or not there’s a potential anime continuation in the works for the future.

My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 wrapped up its run with Episode 12 of the season, and the episode ended with a brand new scene crafted specifically for the anime. With the Coffin group cosplay officially wrapped up, Marin Kitagawa and Wakana Gojo prepare to say their own goodbyes. With Marin finally realizing that she actually is in love with Gojo, she decides that she’s finally going to confess to him after their group cosplay is done. But when she gets the chance to do so, she instead asks for a selfie with just the two of them and they begin their happy future together.

This is where My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 comes to a end, and it’s a bit disappointing because it seems like it’s meant to wrap up the anime on a whole. When the first season ended, it was quickly revealed that the anime would be returning for a new continuation, and it was then revealed some time later that it was actually a full second season. But with the second season still leaving Marin and Gojo’s future in the air, it’s even more of a bummer for fans hoping to see that romance potentially blossom even further in future episodes.

Will My Dress-Up Darling’s Anime Ever Continue?

It’s still possible that My Dress-Up Darling could continue with more of the anime in the future, but it just hasn’t been announced yet. Shinichi Fukuda’s original My Dress-Up Darling manga has since come to an end, and with it has fully revealed what happens to Marin and Gojo in the future. Fans had been hoping to see the rest of the manga adapted into an anime someday, but there’s still a chance that could happen even without an immediate announcement of a continuation.

This might seem like the end of the anime thanks to its original ending, but there are still some big arcs (and Marin cosplays) that fans have been hoping to see someday. Right now, it’s just a bit of a bummer as it seems like there’s just so much more that’s being left on the table right now. What do you think?
