My Hero Academia is only days away from the premiere of its final season, and the anime has shared its final update ahead of that big Season 8 premiere and teases a big fight coming. My Hero Academia has been steadily setting the stage for the anime’s grand finale ever since Kohei Horikoshi’s original manga ended with Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine last Summer, and fans have been especially curious to see how the anime is going to bring it all to life. With the Fall 2025 anime schedule fast approaching, My Hero Academia has dropped some key info about its own premiere coming soon too.

My Hero Academia will be premiering its eight and final season on October 4th, and the anime has dropped the first look at its big premiere along with confirming that the title for My Hero Academia Season 8 Episode 1 is “Toshinori Yagi: Rising Origin.” Shared with the anime’s official social media account, My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON has also shared the first look at the episode featuring Armored All Might in his final key fight against All For One as the war reaches its ultimate climax. Check it out below.

My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON will be premiering on Saturday, October 4th, and will be streaming outside of Japan for fans in the United States with both Crunchyroll and Hulu. Together with this first reveal of the premiere episode, it was also revealed that the ending theme for the final season is titled “I” as performed by BUMP of CHICKEN. Pornograffiti has also confirmed to be returning from the anime’s very first season to perform the new opening theme titled, “The REVO.” The voice cast from the previous seven seasons are set to return as well.

This also includes a returning staff for the grand finale too. Naomi Nakayama returns to direct My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON for studio Bones with Yosuke Kuroda returning to handle the series’ scripts, Kenji Nagasaki serving as chief director, Yoshihiko Umakoshi and Hitomi Odashima providing the character designs, and Yuki Hayashi composing the music. So the staff that has helped bring it all to life through the anime’s tenure thus far will be bringing it all to an end, and it seems like it’s all in good hands.

How Will My Hero Academia’s Anime End?

There is a question of how My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON will actually bring it all to an end. The original Shonen Jump run of the manga has an ending of its own, but Kohei Horikoshi has since returned to the manga with a few epilogue chapters continuing the story to a more conclusive ending. There’s a hope that the anime will be adapting this fuller version of the story, but it’s currently unclear as of this time. Horikoshi has teased that he would be providing some new material specifically for the anime, however.

Teasing fans during Anime Expo 2025 earlier this Summer, “Now that My Hero Academia’s manga has ended, I have been able to work more closely with the production studio on the anime and the production process,” Horikoshi noted. “I’ve had the chance to suggest adding extra scenes and emotional layers to the performances.” It’s unclear if these extras mean the additional epilogue content or something brand new, so fans are going to want to tune into the new season to find out.
