The opening of an official website today announced that the manga series “My Stepmother and Stepsisters Aren’t Wicked” (Japanese: “Ibitte Konai Gibo to Gishi”) receives an anime adaptation. You can find a first teaser below.

“My Stepmother and Stepsisters Aren’t Wicked” is being created under the direction of Keisuke Inoue (“Ao-Chan Can’t Study!”) In the Studio Newon and starts on Japanese television in the course of next year. Nanami Hoshino wrote the script, while Mutsumi Sasaki (»Laid-Back Camp«) contributes the character design.
In the main role of the stepmother, Kujira (Anzu Baba in »The 100 Girlriends Who Really, Really, Reaally, Really, Really Love You«) can be heard as Teru Kounokura. Other members of the Japanese speaker cast are not yet known.
The Otsuji, the same name of the same name has been published in the “Comic Pool” magazine by Ichijinsha in Japan since November 2020. The work is available by Seven Seas Entertainment with English translation.
