Netflix is bringing “KPop Demon Hunters” to German cinemas

After the sensational streaming success, Netflix will soon be bringing the animated film “KPop Demon Hunters” to German cinemas. We summarize.
Cinema release in October 2025
“KPop Demon Hunters” will be shown in this country as a “sing-along” event in selected cinemas from October 31st to November 2nd, 2025, at the same time as the US revival. The German cinema release takes place in cooperation with the distributor 24 Bilder, which is once again working with Netflix.
The film was shown in cinemas in the USA in August 2025 and grossed an impressive 18 million US dollars (around 15.4 million euros) in just two days. However, the success was even greater on Netflix itself: There the film has over 325 million views, making it the most successful Netflix title of all time.
The approximately one and a half hour evening filler, which was released internationally on demand on June 20, 2025, was created in a joint production by Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation (“Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse”) directed by Maggie Kang, who also wrote the story, and Chris Appelhans.
The film tells the story of K-pop stars Rumi, Mira and Zoey, who fight off-stage as fearless demon hunters against a dark force to protect their fans. When a demon boy band shows up, they find themselves in a dangerous battle that threatens not only their mission, but also their double lives.
