In an interview, the character designer of “One Piece” confirmed that the Anime remake of Netflix is still in progress. We summarize.
Slow progress
Since the announcement as part of the Jump Festa 2024, it has become quiet about the Netflix remake of “One Piece”, but now new information has been known-even if you probably did not meet what fans hoped for.
As character designer Kyoji Asano recently explained, the team continues to work “active” on production. Apart from that, there is currently no new information on the new edition entitled “The One Piece”.
The comparatively slow progress could be attributed to the ideas of creator Eiichiro Oda, who does not just want a detailed implementation of his worldwide successful manga, but rather stimulates the creators to add additional creative ideas.
The Anime Remake from Netflix is produced under the direction of Masashi Koizuka (“Attack on Titan”) at WIT Studio. Hideaki Abe (episode Director at “Jujutsu Kaisen”) acts as an assistant director, while Taku Kishimoto (“Blue Lock”) wrote the script. Kyouji Asano (»Psycho Pass«) and Takatoshi Honda (»In/Spectre«) create character design and also act as a chief animation director.
An official start date or the voice actors of the main characters are not yet known. We keep you up to date with all the news.
